This notice supplements the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.

Platform defaults

When you have not added your own key, text and image generation runs through the Albireus cloud model channel (Google Cloud Vertex AI). The name you see on screen is “Albireus default model”; we do not list the cloud provider's internal model names.

What we do not do

Albireus has no foundation model of its own, and we do not use your docs, transcripts, scans or conversations to train an “Albireus model.” Any restrictions on how cloud providers may train on customer data are governed by their terms of service in effect at the time; add-on features such as real-time caching or search grounding may be subject to different rules.

Bring your own key

If you paste in your own API key, requests are sent to the provider you specify. Albireus is only a relay and does not store the key in its cloud database. Whether those providers train models on your data depends on your agreement with them. Bringing your own key is currently available on paid plans only.

How AI points are charged

• Only calls that use the platform's default models use points. Calls made with your own key do not, because you pay the provider directly.
• Points are charged based on the actual cost of each call: transcription by duration, chat and generation by number of tokens, image generation by number of images and quality, and web search separately.
• Point deduction records keep only quantities (tokens, seconds, images) and timestamps. Prompts, replies and doc text are not stored.
• Trial and promotional points are valid for one year from the date they are issued; new top-ups are valid for 90 days from the date payment is completed. The batch that expires soonest is used first. You can see your remaining balance and expiry dates on the plans page.
• The rules for plan allowances and top-up points are set out in the Terms of Service.

What context is sent

• Text you type in a conversation and files you attach.
• Docs you mention with @ or select, and folder summaries.
• When “Web” is turned on, the model may use web search to ground its answers.
• Database semantic search converts text into vectors to retrieve relevant docs.

Where conversations are stored

Conversations in the sidebar are saved in your account data so you can pick them up later. AI memory you write in settings is also synced with your account. Please do not paste secrets that should not be stored long-term into a conversation.

Check it yourself

AI can make mistakes, leave things out, or cite sources that do not exist. Before relying on it for grades, legal or medical matters, or anything you will publish, always have a person check it again.
