Terms of Service
By using Albireus you agree to these Terms. You give your agreement by ticking the checkbox and confirming when you sign up or enter the workspace. The Google sign-in screen only verifies your account; it does not replace these Terms.
Operator
This service is operated by Lin Chen Yu (brand name: Albireus). Contact: support@albireus.com.
The service
Albireus provides a knowledge workspace: docs, transcription, a database, research, presentations and related AI features. Features are updated continually, and some may change or be discontinued. Please do not rely on Albireus as your only backup.
Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Your account is tied to your Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping that Google account secure.
Your content
You keep the copyright and all other rights in your docs, audio, images and other uploaded content. To run the service, you grant us permission, to the extent necessary, to host, convert, transcribe and create search embeddings of that content, and to show it to others according to the sharing settings you turn on. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
Paid plans and AI points
- There are currently four plans: Free, Plus, Pro and Ultra. Plus, Pro and Ultra each include a fixed number of AI points per month; the Free plan includes a one-time allotment of trial points.
- Trial points granted at sign-up and promotional points are valid for one year from the date they are issued; newly purchased top-up points are valid for 90 days from the date payment is completed. Any unused balance expires at the end of its validity and is not reissued. Top-up points credited before this change keep the expiry date recorded at the time. Plan points are reset each billing period. You can see the remaining balance and expiry date of each batch of points on the plans page.
- AI points are a usage allowance, not stored value or virtual currency. They cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another account.
- When you use AI features provided by the platform, points are deducted based on the actual cost of each call: transcription by duration, chat and generation by number of tokens, and image generation by number of images and quality. Calls made with your own API key do not use points.
- For monthly plans, each billing period runs for one month from the day you complete payment. Yearly plans cover one year per payment, and plan points are still issued once a month (existing subscriptions made through NewebPay keep 30-day periods). Plan points do not roll over to the next period; any unused points expire at the end of the period.
- You can keep using AI after your points run out. Any usage beyond your balance is recorded and deducted first from your next allowance.
- If model providers change their prices, the conversion rate may be adjusted accordingly. We will announce any such adjustment in the service before it takes effect.
Point top-ups
- Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers can buy additional point packs. The price and number of points in each pack are as shown on the purchase page (points are calculated according to your plan at the time of purchase). Top-up points do not reset with the billing period and are used only after your plan points are exhausted.
- Newly purchased top-up points are valid for 90 days from the date payment is completed; any unused balance expires after that. Top-up points credited before this change keep the expiry date recorded at the time. When you hold several batches of points, the batch that expires soonest is used first.
- There is a maximum top-up balance; the actual limit is shown on the purchase page.
- Top-up points are delivered to you in full as soon as payment is completed; refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.
Payment, renewal, expiry and refunds
- Subscriptions and point top-ups are sold through Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for these transactions and handles checkout, payment collection, tax, receipts and refunds; Paddle's Buyer Terms also apply at checkout. Prices are shown in US dollars excluding tax. Paddle calculates and adds any applicable tax at checkout based on your location, and the checkout may also show the amount in your local currency. The amount actually charged is the amount shown at Paddle checkout.
- By purchasing Plus, Pro or Ultra, you authorize Paddle to automatically charge for the next period when each period ends (monthly for monthly plans, yearly for yearly plans). Paddle emails your receipts. You can update your payment method or cancel auto-renewal at any time via “Manage subscription” on the plans page or the “Manage subscription” link in your Paddle receipt email; you keep access until the end of the current period, after which your account returns to the Free plan. Point top-ups are one-time purchases and are never charged automatically.
- If you upgrade mid-period, the prorated difference for the remaining days is charged immediately and your period end date stays the same. A downgrade takes effect from the next period and is charged at the new price.
- If you subscribed through NewebPay before we switched to Paddle, your existing recurring payment continues to be charged every 30 days until you cancel or switch to a Paddle subscription. Switching ends your NewebPay auto-renewal automatically.
- Refund conditions and how to request a refund are set out in our Refund Policy. When your plan expires and you return to the Free plan, unused plan points are not kept; top-up points remain until their own validity ends.
- If points are deducted in error because of a mistake on our side, email us with the details and we will restore them.
- We never receive or store your full card number.
Changes to prices and plans
We may change prices, point allowances or plan contents. Such changes take effect only from the next billing period, and we will notify you before they take effect; you can cancel your subscription before then.
Public links and teams
You are responsible for whom you share with. Anyone who has a public link can view the content without signing in. Do not upload personal data or works of third parties that you are not entitled to process.
AI output
AI replies and generated images may be inaccurate, incomplete or factually wrong; please check them yourself before relying on them. You may not use the service for anything illegal, to infringe the rights of others, or to circumvent access controls. See the AI features notice for details.
Recordings and uploads
You must make sure you have the right to record, upload and process the voices and images in any audio or video, including those of other people in a meeting.
Acceptable use
- Do not distribute malware or content that is harassing, fraudulent or infringing.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to other people's accounts, data or systems.
- Do not use automated tools to make large volumes of calls that affect the stability of the service.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an account for a breach of these Terms, where required by law, or for operational reasons. If an account is terminated for a breach, any remaining points are not refunded; this does not affect your rights under applicable law or Paddle’s Buyer Terms. You may also delete your account yourself at any time under Settings → Account → Delete account: the account is disabled immediately and its data is permanently deleted within 14 days; any active subscription’s auto-renewal is cancelled through Paddle so you are not charged again, payments already made are handled under the Refund Policy, and remaining points are not kept or converted to cash. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that data loss or service interruptions will not occur, and we are not liable for damage caused by AI output. Where we are nevertheless liable by law, our liability is limited to the fees you actually paid for the service in the 12 months before the dispute arose (including amounts paid through Paddle). Nothing in this section excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The Taiwan Taipei District Court has jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute relating to the service. However, if you are a consumer and the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence give you greater protection, or allow you to bring proceedings in the courts where you live, this section does not take those rights away.
Changes
When these Terms change, we publish a new version. If a change affects your rights or how your data is used, you must confirm again before you next enter the workspace. Contact: support@albireus.com.
